In just a few days, on May 24, 2026, the 20th anniversary edition of the DHL Sereďmaratón will take place, once again combining sporting performance, the atmosphere of the region, and a professionally prepared race course.
The organizers have designed a 117-kilometre route passing through dozens of towns and villages in western Slovakia, featuring fast sections, challenging climbs, and technical passages that will test every participant.
Ceremonial Ride Through Sereď and a New Start Location
The opening kilometres will include the traditional ceremonial ride through the streets of Sereď. After approximately three kilometres, the peloton will move to the official start near the event’s new partner – the Prúdy shopping centre.
A major novelty of this anniversary edition is the relocation of both the start and finish to Námestie slobody Street, where the road will be fully closed exclusively for the event. This change will provide greater comfort for riders, a safer finish, and a more attractive setting for spectators.
The Route Passes Through Well-Known Villages and the Spa Town of Piešťany
After the start, the peloton will head towards Šúrovce, Dolné and Horné Zelenice, Šulekovo, Leopoldov, Madunice, and Drahovce.
Participants will then experience one of the most interesting additions to this year’s route – a passage through the spa town of Piešťany.
From there, the course continues through Banka, Radošina, Nitrianska Blatnica, Lužany, Veľké and Malé Ripňany, Biskupová, Malé Zálužie, Nové Sady, Šurianky, Čakajovce, Zbehy, Alekšince, Rišňovce, Rumanová, Báb, Pata, Šoporňa, and Šintava before returning to Sereď.
The varied course profile offers opportunities for climbers, sprinters, and riders capable of maintaining a strong pace in a breakaway.
Mountain and Sprint Primes
The 20th anniversary edition of DHL Sereďmaratón will once again feature attractive competitions within the peloton.
Two mountain primes will be contested:
- Havran
- At the Radošinka lookout tower between Nové Sady and Šurianky
The new sponsor of the mountain primes is this year’s new event supporter, SESVIA Accounting Firm.
Sprint primes will be located in:
- Horné Zelenice
- Rumanová – in front of TECHNOV
These sprint competitions are supported by our long-term partner, TECHNOV, based in Rumanová, a stable supporter of DHL Sereďmaratón that recently signed a new three-year partnership agreement with the organizers.
These sections may significantly influence the race and provide exciting sprint action for spectators.
Safety Remains the Priority
As the race takes place on open roads, all participants are asked to exercise increased caution and follow the instructions of the organizers.
Special attention will be required at:
- the crossing of the Krajinský Bridge in Piešťany,
- the traffic lights on Krajinská Street in Piešťany,
- the technical descent from the Havran mountain prime towards Radošina.
Safety will be overseen by volunteers, motorcycle marshals from long-term partner Autoškola BB Petra Urbáneka, and officers from the Police Departments of Galanta, Nitra, and Trnava.
Support Vehicles and Technical Assistance
The organizers will provide comprehensive on-course support, including:
- two neutral mechanical support vehicles,
- an ambulance with two independent medical crews,
- a broom wagon for riders unable to continue.
Teams with four or more riders may arrange their own team support vehicle. These vehicles will be equipped with Radio Tour communication for direct contact with organizers and commissaires.

The 20th anniversary edition of DHL Sereďmaratón promises an outstanding sporting atmosphere, a well-prepared route, and professional organization throughout the day.
New sections, the passage through Piešťany, the redesigned start and finish area, and attractive mountain and sprint primes make this event one of the most interesting amateur cycling races in Slovakia.
